NMC’s ultimatium to pvt hospitals, follow rules or face action

Acting strictly on the Private hospitals on overcharging patients on treatment, not following rules, not updating civic authorities regarding the patients, and providing real-time data NMC Chief Radhakrishnan B issued an order to all the private hospitals to follow rules or face action.
Acting on the complaints received regarding the availability of beds in many of the healthcare facilities, causing hardship to many patients and it is also noticed that the healthcare providers are not making provision of 80% of total operational bed capacity (excluding beds of PICU, NICU, daycare, maintenance hemodialysis) with the regulated rates as prescribed reads the order.


It is also noticed that private healthcare facilities are not receiving the calls regarding admission of the patients and also not updating the real-time data of the COVID patients admitted and balance availability of the beds, on the NMC portal https://covid19.nagpurlivecity.com many patients are facing tremendous hardships causing them a lot of psychological pressures, thereby deterioration of the overall health of such patients.
Radhakrishnan B., Municipal Commissioner, Nagpur Municipal Corporation, directed that all such 80% operational bed capacity to be scrupulously regulated as per prescribed rates and the data of such patients shall be updated in real-time to the control room of Municipal Corporation on website https://covid19.nagpurlivecity.com & Phone No. 07122567021 and it is also directed that private DCH (dedicated COVID Hospitals) ordered to not admit the COVID patients to their hospital without the telephonic consent of Municipal Corporation control room having telephone No. 07122567021 unless the patient is critical.
It is also directed that if any COVID patient is critical & he/she needs treatment in urgency, the DCH authority are in liberty to admit him/her without the consent of the Municipal Corporation. However, it will be the responsibility of concern DCH authority to inform the Municipal Corporation control room about the admission of such patients by phone and on website for updation of the bed availability within an hour after such admission, so that real-time data of the bed availability will be available to the Municipal Corporation for the facilitation of citizens.
Any DCH hospital found violating this order shall be deemed to have committed an offence and shall be liable for cancellation of registration of nursing home and offence under the Indian Penal Code & all other allied laws shall be registered.
