Dishank Bajaj wins Shanta Walokar Memorial U-15 Online Blitz Chess tournament

Dishank Bajaj, a student of Narayana Vidyalayam, won the Shanta Walokar Memorial Under-15 Online Blitz Chess tournament, organised by Power Chess Academy, here on Wednesday.

The promising teenager reigned supreme with 7.5 points to his credit out of 9 rounds with better tie-break score of 43.75 followed by Nilay Kulkarni (7.5, 40.75) and Ayush Ramteke (7) for the second and third place, respectively.

The prize money of Rs 1,500 was sponsored by Sudhir Walokar. As many as 55 players from Amravati, Gadchiroli, Chandrapur, Wardha, Akola and Nagpur participated in the one-day tournament.

In all, nine rounds were played. The time control of three minutes was given to the players to finish the game. This tournament was conducted under the supervision of IA Deepak Chavan and FA Umesh Panbude.
