DLSA Nagpur to conduct National Lok Adalat on Dec 12

District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Nagpur in association with National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi and Maharashtra State Legal Services Authority, Mumbai is conducting National Lok Adalat on December 12. The National Lok Adalat will be held to settle large number of pending cases.

The objective behind conducting this Lok Adalat is to solve more and more cases in a single day to reduce the burden of pending cases from the courts. The Lok Adalat will be held in all courts in Maharashtra, including High Court, its benches and upto taluka courts. Cases like Criminal Compoundable Cases; Negotiable Instrument Act Cases u/s 138; Bank or Money Recovery Cases; Motor Accident Claim Petitions, Accident Information Report, State Transport Cases; Matrimonial or Family Courts Cases; Labour disputes including cases where re-employment with no back wages as per policy, cases relating to liquidation where claims of industrial workers for wages and other benefits are pending; Land Acquisition cases including relating to Industrial Board, land acquisition for Railways, etc. and also Land Acquisition Executions; Other Civil Cases like rent, easmentary rights, injunction suits, specific; Revenue Cases; Electricity andWater Bills; Service matters relating to pay and allowances and retirement benefits; NI Act Cases under Section 138; Labour Disputes; Water Bill Cases; Maintenance Cases and other criminal cases will be entertained during this Lok Adalat. DLSA, Nagpur is planning for pre-negotiation of litigants for settlement of disputes amicably in the Lok Adalat.

It has been decided to issue notices to concerned parties prior to Lok Adalat for deliberation and discussion on the issue of settlement of disputes which would facilitate to deal with controversial issues effectively on the day of Lok Adalat. Posters, banners and hoarding are also displayed at the various places of court premises, police stations, Revenue Department, etc. for massive awareness campaign across the district for settlement of disputes of litigants on large scale.
