Centre Point School (CPS) Amravati Road Bypass, Nagpur is hosting the most sensational event, Censports, to cap off this year. Censports, which will get underway from Thursday, December 10, is a global online inter-school sports meet. This meet is testimony to the great adaptability, and novelty of Centre Point School. But most of all, it is an intrepid move to conduct an online sports meet, that too with international entries.
This spirit has been overwhelmingly rewarded by the 1830 entries of the participants. The 7 other countries participating besides India are the USA, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, Bangladesh, Oman, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia with as many as 83 international participants.
More than four hundred (433) schools have sent their best sportspersons to compete with those from all parts of the world in four sports and in the different age category — Under-7 to U-17 boys and girls. These four sports are chess, karate kata, speed cubing and the fitness challenge.
There are numerous awards and prizes that these young competitors will be vying for. For each game the top three participants will be awarded a merit certificate and exciting prizes. There is also recognition awarded to the maximum number of female participation from each school with the ‘She Award’.
The top ten schools will be recognised for highest number of participants. But apart from this, each competitor will receive an e-certificate for participation in the event. All the final matches will be held live online raising the stakes even higher.
The inaugural ceremony for this trailblazer will be conducted on Thursday at 5 pm through YouTube. Radhika Rajwade, Director Centre Point Group of Schools, will be opening the event online.
