A virtual inauguration of SN Shrivastava and Kalavatidevi Shrivastava Memorial Online Blitz Chess tournament, organized and conducted by the Nagpur District Chess Association, was held on Sunday by Nisha Shrivastava, the daughter-in-law of late SN Shrivastava and Kalavatidevi Shrivastava in whose memory the tournament is being organized.
Immediately after the formal inauguration, the opening round started at 6 pm on Sunday. The total prize money of the tourney is Rs 5,000, which is sponsored by Nisha Shrivastava.
Total 48 players have participated in the nine-round tournament. The time control gave all players 5 minutes each to finish the game. The tournament is conducted under the supervision of IA Pravin Pantawane and FA Umesh Panbude.
