Corona pandemic has increased the scope of Biology subject: Manjiri Munje

Biology is a very interesting subject having the greatest marks in NEET. No doubt the Medical field is highest and mostly selected by the merit students having an interest in Biology but many other Bio-related branches are also flourishing.

The Corona pandemic has increased the need for medical technicians and has also increased the scope of Biology subjects, said Manjiri Munje.

Munje is teaching students for NEET, class XI and XII Boards, KVPY, IISC, IISER, and other competitive exams.

Munje was talking to The Live Nagpur in an interview Munje further added that students who wished to go for Civil Services were also opting for Biology.

Munje, who topped M Sc in the year 1996 from  Amravati University, has also done PG Diploma in Environmental Science is teaching students from 1997. She started her classes by the name Manjari Munje Biology Classes in the year 2008. “Teaching is my passion right from the beginning; it gives me the satisfaction of creating the career of students. I like to keep the teenagers on track by way of teaching,” She said.

“I want to give students a new view that not only Medicine but every branch needs genius. The Government of India is promoting researches in every sector like Agriculture, Horticulture, Dairy and Animal Husbandry, Genetic Engineering, Biotechnology, etc. These fields also need thorough knowledge and dedicated personalities to work. The confirmatory test for Covid i.e. RT-PCR is done by biotechnologists. In the future, there may be a need for many such technologists. Students should think about varied bio-related fields. They must have knowledge about scientists like Kamala Sohonie and M.S. Swaminathan. They were pioneers in biochemistry and agricultural biotechnology in India” she further said.

When asked about the present scenario, she replied “Due to Covid-19, online classes are started. Due to online classes, even the students from remote areas can contact with the best teachers. But for personal attention and results, offline classes are best. Tuition means complete personal attention, and to get every concept cleared from the experts. Nowadays, greater responsibility is taken by tuition teachers to give desired results and admissions in good colleges to students. I suggest that while choosing tuition classes, parents must meet every subject teacher individually. They should not only rely on the institution’s name.”

Relying on the positive approach, she gets every work done by the students without giving them tension. Every concept is taught by taking the help of audio-visual aids. As complete Biology (Botany and Zoology) is taught by a single person, many revisions of concepts are done. As many a time, those concepts are equally applicable in Zoology as well as Botany. Students should opt for Biology at least up to HSC level as it will help them for competitive exams like MPSC, UPSC, also. The subject will help in living a better life as it teaches the basics of immunity.
