Nagpur District Athletics Association is organising District Senior Athletics Championship from April 15 to 17. During this meet, Nagpur district men’s and women’ teams will be selected for the state championship to be held in May.
The events for men and women include 100 m, 200m, 400 m, 800 m, 1500 m 5,000 m, 10,000 m, 100 and 110 m hurdle, 400 m hurdle, 3000 m steeple chase, long jump, triple jump, high jump, pole vault, discus throw, shot put, javelin throw, 20 km walking, 4×100 and 4×400 m relay, 4×100 and 4×100 m IM.
The last date of entry is April 3 by 6 p.m. The entry fee will be Rs  200 per event and rs 50 registration. The bib numbers will be distributed on April 10 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
To select the team for state meet, a selection committee under the chairmanship of Jitendra Ghordadekar has been formed. Other members are Vijaya Sonawane, Kamlesh Hinge, Umakant Sangole, Amit Thakur and Ramchandra Wani.
The prize distribution function will be held immediately after the event. First three winners will get medals.
Apart from it best sprinter, best endurance runner, best thrower, best jumper in both men and women categories will be honoured.
Ann organising committee for the smooth conduction of the event has been formed under the guidance of Dr Sanay Choudhary . Other members are corporator and NDAA vice-president Nagesh Sahare, former international athlete Vaishali Fating, Dr Chhaya Patil, Dr Vivekanand Singh, Pror. Buntyprasad Yadav. Ramchandra Wani will be the convener whereas Dr Sharad Suryavanshi is organising secretary.
