Two data scientists from Nagpur, Samhitha Vadlamani and Abhishek Kumar Annamraju, made the city proud as they received an international honour in the recent ceremony by The International Society of Data Scientists (https:// w w w . – isods.org/). A b h i s h e k was given the title of ‘The M o s t  I n f l u e n t i a l  Young Data Scientist of the Year 2020’, and Samhitha was adjudged as the winner of 2nd International Data Science and AI Competition.
Abhishek was awarded the title based on his numerous contributions in the field of Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence. Samhitha in the competition created an AI engine that will help organisations to improve their services to attract new customers and retain their old ones. Both are BITS-Pilani graduates, with Samhitha being an Astrophysicist and Abhishek an Electronics Engineer, they have been contributing to the field of Data Science and computer vision from their engin e e r i n g   t e n ure. Abhishek has interests in the fields of computational neuroscience and neuroplasticity, and published researches in journals such as IET, AIVP, etc. Samhitha has done research on Brain computer interfacing, robotics, and galactical evolution, and is currently working on the confluence of astrophysics and data science fields.
