FORDA India will hold a nationwide ‘black day protest’ on June 1

The escalating feud between Yog Guru Ramdev Baba and Doctors is nowhere to end soon as the Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA) India informed that they will hold a nationwide black day protest on June 1 “without hampering the patient care to voice their protest against the statements of Yog Guru Ramdev against Corona warriors and modern medicine.”

FORDA in their press release said “Corona warriors including that of Doctors Nurses, other medical staff, Safai Karmcharis, Police personnel, Media persons and Teachers etc have all worked more than their abilities during the pandemic. Some of them have even made supreme sacrifices. Despite laying down their lives in the line of national duty, we are being subjected to insensitive inhuman and insulting statements from Ram Kisan Yadav alias Ramdev Baba”.

“Not only this, he tried to derail Government of India’s vaccination drive across the country as his statement has added on to vaccine hesitancy. Even after FORDA putting forward the voice against such obnoxious statements, no action has yet been taken against him. As we all are occupied in COVID care, FORDA hence, is compelled to declare that we shall hold a nationwide black day protest on 1″ of June, 2021 without hampering the patient care to voice our protest against the illogical, unscientific, demeaning and derogatory statements of Ram Kisan Yadav against Corona warriors and modern medicine” reads the press release.

FORDA also demanded for unconditional open public apology from Ramdev Babab or action against him under relevant sections of the Epidemic Diseases Act. 1897.

Ramdev Baba while addressing an event allegedly said, “allopathy ek aisi stupid aur dilwaliya science hai’ (‘Allopathy is a stupid & … science’)” leading to a dispute.

Earlier the Indian Medical Association (IMA) also served a defamation notice on Ramdev for alleged disparaging remarks against allopathy and allopathic doctors, demanding an apology from him within 15 days, failing which it said it will demand a compensation of Rs 1,000 crore from the yoga guru.
