Coaching classes shut, shops to function till 4 pm in City from Monday

Within just 10 days of easing the restrictions of lockdown based on the Level 1 parameters, Nagpur has once again reduced the time period for essential and non-essential shops and other activities in the City.

NMC has issued notice to impose Level 3 restrictions and further tightening the restrictions to break the chain of transmission of the COVID 19 virus and tackle the threat of the Delta Plus Variant in the city. The new restrictions will remain in force from June 28 till July 5.

The new variants like delta, delta plus, etc. have come to spread and are fuelling the potentiality of imminent (4-6 weeks), more severe third wave of Covid-19 with the wider geographical area; And whereas INSACOG (a consortium of laboratories for Whole Genome Sequencing in the context of Covid 19 pandemic) has intimated that Delta Plus Variant is currently a Variant of Concern (VOC) with various characteristic.

Earlier NMC had allowed theaters, malls, swimming polls and coaching classes to function in city with limited capacity and within the set time frame. But now has ordered to shut Malls, Theatres, Natyagriha. Along with this the Coaching classes which was allowed have onces again ordered to be shut until further order.

Meanwhile to curb the spread of the new delta variant in the state Essential, non-essential shops, restaurants, private offices etc have been allowed to function upto 4pm from Monday. Non-essential and resorts are not allowed to open on weekends. Attendance in marriage reduced from 100 to 50, till 4pm & only for 3 hrs.
