43 ministers take oath in PM Modi’s cabinet

The oath ceremony of Forty-three new ministers is currently underway as a part of a big reshuffle in the Narendra Modi-led government.

The oath-taking ceremony for these ministers is being held at Rashtrapati Bhawan. This is the first reshuffle in the Council of Ministers by PM Modi since he assumed charge for a second term in May 2019.

Ahead of the much-anticipated reshuffle, twelve ministers have resigned from the council of ministers so far. Among the big names to resign include IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, Environment Minister Prakash Javdekar, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, and Labour Minister Santosh Gangwar.
