Legendary Actor Late Dilip Kumar gets a state funeral with full state honours in Mumbai on Wednesday on the instructions of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. Dilip Kumar’s mortal was laid to rest at Mumbai’s Juhu kabristan this evening.
Dilip Kumar’s spokesperson Faisal Farooqui took to the former’s Twitter account and wrote, “Burial today at 5 pm Juhu qabrastan at Santacruz Mumbai.”
Legendary Actor Dilip Kumar breathed his last on Wednesday. He was 98. The actor was admitted to suburban Khar-based Hinduja Hospital, a non-COVID-19 facility, following episodes of breathlessness.
Kumar’s career spans over five decades with hits like ‘Mughal-e-Azamâ€, ‘Devdasâ€, ‘Naya Daurâ€, and ‘Ram Aur Shyamâ€. His last big-screen appearance was in the 1998 film ‘Qilaâ€. The thespian was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke award in 1994 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2015 for his contribution to Indian cinema.
