The Covid vaccination in the country began on January 16 this year. Due to proper plan ning and widespread pub lic awareness, over 10 lakh people in Nagpur have received the first dose of vaccine.
Of these, more than 4 lakh citizens have also been administered with the second dose of vaccine.
A total of 46,584 health workers, 53,490 frontline workers, 4,09,198 citizens in the age group of 18 to 44 years, 2,94,092 persons in the age group of 45 to 60 years, 2,03,613 senior citizens above 60 years of age. Thus making a total of 10,06,977 citizens have got the first vaccine.
The vaccination cam paign in Nagpur had begun in a phased manner. In the first phase, health workers and frontline workers were vaccinated. While in the second phase, senior citizens above 60 years of age and people above 45 years of age with co-morbidities got the jab.
