CZA to bring out Indian Zoo Yearbook

The Central Zoo Authority (CZA), Delhi, has written a letter to all the Principal Chief Conservators of Forest (Heads of Forest Force) in all States and Union territories for inviting papers for Indian Zoo Yearbook vol IX (2021-22). The IZYB aims to provide a platform for publication of original, peer-reviewed research papers, technical reports and evidence-based case studies, especially related to ex-situ conservation and zoo science and shall be available as an open-source publication to a global audience.

Dr Sonali Ghosh, Deputy Inspector General of Forest, CZA, said on Thursday that the CZA had undertaken the task to publish the Indian Zoo Yearbook for the year 2021-22 in collaboration with Nandankanan Zoological Park, Bhubaneshwar in Orissa State.

The categories of thematic papers to be covered under the schope of IZYB include (but not limited to) : Studies in pure and applied Zoo Biology (e.g. reintroduction, post-release monitoring) and evidence-based studies aimed at developing educational role of zoos) e.g. evaluationof visitor learning and conservation awareness). Submission of complete paper (along with summery abstract) may be submitted as per author guidelines and declaration by the authors (Annx I and II). Submission shall be only accepted by email to cza@nic.in with cc to indianzooyearbook@gmail.com. The last date for submission is 18-9-2021.  Dr Gowri Mallapur (email:vets-cz@govcontractor.in) and Dr RajeshMohapatra (email:biologist.nkzp@gmail.com) may be contacted for any further details and queries, said Dr Ghosh.
