In an effort to restart cultural events after about 18 months of Corona pandemic, Khasdar Karandak (MP Trophy) One-act Play contest is being organised from October 28.
Khasdar Sanskrutik Mahotsav Samiti is organising the competition at Scientific Society Hall, Laxmi Nagar, here. The prize distribution function will be held at Suresh Bhatt Auditorium, Reshimbag, at 6 pm on October 31. Union Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari will be the chief guest.
With this district-level drama contest, the cultural events are being restarted. The winners will get cash prizes of Rs 51,000 and Trophy; Rs 31,000; Rs 21,000 and consolation prize of Rs 11,000. Various other individual prizes for direction, actors, costume designing, lighting, stage decoration etc will also be given.

The main theme of the drama festival is incidents related to freedom struggle, including revolutionists, freedom struggle historical personalities, efforts to keep the nation united even during British rule upto the day of independence, with reference to present situation.
The details and entry forms will be available at the Committee’s office at Gangotri Apartments, Siddha Ganesh Mandir Buty Layout, Laxmi Nagar, Nagpur, from 9 am to 3 pm, from October 1. Those interested may also contact the office on phone 91751283151. The last date of registration is October 10.
