PM Modi inaugurates Adi Shankaracharya’s statue in Kedarnath

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today morning inaugurated the statue of Adi Shankaracharya at the grounds of Kedarnath temple in Rudraprayag district, Uttarakhand. Samadhi of Adi Shankaracharya rebuilt after being destroyed in the 2013 flood in Uttarakhand.

“You are all witnesses to the inauguration of Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi here today. His devotees are here in spirit. All the mathematics and ‘jyotirlingas’ of the country are related to this. relevant to us today,” Prime Minister Modi said.

Before the inauguration, Prime Minister Modi prayed and performed “aarti” in the ancient temple. He paid homage to Lord Shiva and proceeded around the Kedarnath Temple after offering prayers. The temple was decorated with flowers.

He will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of the over 300 crore reconstruction project at the Himalayan temple.

PM Modi was picked up at Dehradun Airport by Governor of Uttarakhand, Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (ret), Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and cabinet colleagues Subodh Uniyal and Ganesh Joshi, as well as Uttarakhand Council President, Premchand Aggarwal .

Saraswati Retaining Wall Aasthapath and Ghats, Mandakini Retaining Wall Aasthapath, Tirth Purohit Houses, and Garud Chatti bridge on river Mandakini are some of the projects to be inaugurated by PM Modi. Prime Minister Modi, is also expected to spoke at a public gathering during his visit. Located on the banks of the Mandakini River, Kedarnath temple is one of four ancient pilgrimage sites known as “ Char Dham Yatra”, which also includes Yamunotri, Gangotri and Badrinath.
