On November 18, two Purkaji town school supervisors halted 17 girls from Bhopa at GGS International School late at night on the excuse of preparing for a practical examination, drugged their food, and allegedly molested them. There was no female instructor there with the girls, and families claimed that even when the police learned of the occurrence, they attempted to save the school administrators. They allegedly tried to put pressure on a local journalist by filing a complaint with the school administrators accusing him of spreading rumours and blackmailing.
After local BJP MLA Pramod Utwal intervened and a probe was ordered, the problem was ultimately brought to light 17 days later.
The girls were also told that if they notified anyone about the incident, they would fail their examinations and their families would be slaughtered. The students skipped school the next day and told their family members about the occurrence. The girls claimed that they had prepared khichdi for dinner, but that the school management threw it out and replaced it with fresh food that had been allegedly drugged.
Under the POCSO Act and other relevant provisions of the IPC, a FIR has been filed against Yogesh Kumar, the operator of Surya Dev Public School in Bhopa, and Arjun Singh, the operator of GGS International School in Purkaji. Meanwhile, the SHO who attempted to minimise the incident by ignoring the accusations has been dismissed.
“The police station tried its hardest to suppress the situation,” Utwal claimed of the incident. Victimized girls are financially troubled.”
“A complaint was received from the parent of a girl studying at a school under the Purkazi police station area, and a case was registered in this regard,” said SSP Muzaffarnagar Abhishek Yadav. Five teams, including SOG and Crime Branch, have been formed, and both of the accused will be detained soon. SHO Purkazi has also been fired for his negligence, and an investigation has been launched to see if other cops were involved in the case.”
