A government primary school teacher in Nagpur has accused a man of raping, blackmailing, and extorting her after allegedly gaining her trust and secretly recording her intimate photos and videos. Based on her complaint, Ambazari Police have registered an FIR against the accused, identified as Pranay Dive, under charges of rape, criminal intimidation, and relevant provisions of the Information Technology (IT) Act. He is currently absconding.
According to police, the 38-year-old teacher first met the accused when he visited her school to install a loudspeaker. The two later became acquainted, and he allegedly began visiting her home on the pretext of returning borrowed money.
The complainant alleged that the accused forced physical relations on her, secretly recorded intimate photos and videos without her consent, and later used them to blackmail her. She claimed he threatened to circulate the content on social media and sexually and financially exploited her for nearly one-and-a-half years.
Police said the woman alleged that between January 2025 and June 2026, the accused extorted around Rs 5.02 lakh in cash and gold jewellery. Following her complaint, an FIR was registered, and efforts are underway to trace and arrest the accused. The investigation is ongoing.
