The State Excise department has made it mandatory for the liquor shops to provide a day’s permit for carrying or consuming liquor to buyers.
Accordingly, the buyers will have to pay 22 for per mit of country liquor and 25 for foreign liquor. The liquor shops have been instructed to put placards in front of their shops informing the buyers about the new norm.
However, the liquor shops do not seem to be following the rule. Now, the excise department and the police department have launched drive against such shops.
The police administra tion has also said that action would be taken against the people as well who buy liquor without permit. It is worth men tioning here that a day’s licence to carry and con sume liquor is provided by the liquor shops.
