Maharashtra Budget 2022: VAT on CNG, Natural Gas reduced to 3 per cent

Maharashtra Finance Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Friday presented Budget 2022 in the Assembly.

Pawar while presenting Budget 2022 said the state will be the first to have $1-trillion economy.

To boost up the health sector and to provide health facilities hospitals for women will be set up in many districts of the state.

A music university will be set in the state.

“Rs 100 crore will be allocated for start-ups. Rs100 crore will be allocated for Music University that will be established at Kalina University in the name of late Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar,” Pawar added.

Apart from this State government has decided to issue ID cards and ration cards to all transgenders across the state. Pawar also announced that from this year Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj bravery award will be given

Key announcements

•           A GST amnesty scheme from April to September 2022, 2.20 lakh dealers will benefit was also announced in the assembly.

•           Providing relief to the people Deputy CM informed that the Value Added Tax on CNG and Piper Natural Gas will be reduced from 13.5 per cent to 3 per cent.

•           Pawar said the Maharashtra bhavan will be set up in Navi Mumbai

•           Satara’s women security model project to be implemented statewide to bring down crime against women

•           PWD department allocated Rs 15,700 crore for construction of roads and highway

•           Rs 11,119 crore for the tribal development department

•           Rs 500 crore has been allocated in budget to encourage innovation and start up culture, the state government has proposed to set up an innovation centre in each of the six Revenue circles of the state

•           For revenue department Rs 347 crore, while for forest department Rs 1995 crore has been allocated in 2022-23

•           Financial assistance of Rs 10,655 crore has been allocated to people affected by natural calamities.

•           The Mumbai transmission upgrade project will receive Rs 11,530 crore.

•           A budget of Rs 7,618 crore has been allocated for rural development and Housing Rs 1,178 crore in 2022-23

•           For women and child welfare will receive Rs 2,472 crore in 2022-23 •           In a big move Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar announced that there will be no manual scavenging in Maharashtra
