Nagpur Smart & Sustainable City Development Corporation Ltd (NSSCDC) will now provide automated/mechanised multi-level parking facility for cars and two-wheelers in the city (pan city) like merry-go-round/puzzle parking.

A meeting of the Board of Directors of NSSCDC has passed a resolution in this regard in its meeting held online. Thi parking system will provide much relief to vehicle users because the number of vehicles in the city is increasing while there is no alternate space for parking in busy market areas. The space made available by Nagpur Municipal Corporation is insufficient for parking purpose in the given situation.

Dr Sanjay Mukherjee, Mentor and Chairman of NSSCDC, from Mumbai was present virually. Radhakrishnan B, Municipal Commissioner and Administrator, Aniruddha Shenvai, Ashish Mukim, Members, Chinamy Gotmare, Chief Executive Officer of Smart City, Bhanupriya Thakur, Company Secretary, Neha Zha, Chief Finance Officer, and others were present.

Gotmare informed that automated/mechanised multi-level car and two-wheeler parking had been proposed at four places in the city – Foodgrains Market, Itwari, Super Market, Sitabuldi, Gandhisagar and Gokulpeth Market. Arrangement would be made there to park 150 cars and more than 600 two-wheelers, in response to a repeated demand being made by the citizens.

Besides this, the meeting also took a decision to instal traffic signals at cantilever poles at 33 important squares. This system will be installed from Nagpur airport, Samv idhan Chowk, LIC Chowk, NIT Chowk to Pardi as the present traffic signals are not properly seen to vehicle drivers.

The meeting also gave sanction to preparing blue print to sewer lines and GSI mapping of nullahs through which rain water flows.
