The Board of Control for Cricket in India said on Sunday that Rohit Sharma tested positive for Covid-19 and has been in isolation in the team hotel at Leicestershire even as the rest of his teammates are involved in the 4-day practice match against the local county side.
Rohit Sharma tested positive for Covid-19 in the Rapid Antigen Test conducted on Saturday, June 25. The India captain did not take the field onÂ Day 3 of the 4-day practice matchÂ at the Leicestershire County Club.
Rohit is currently under the supervision of the BCCI medical team in England and it remains to be seen if he will be fit to take the field in the rescheduled 5th Test against England, starting July 1 in Birmingham.
Rohit will undergo an RT-PCR test to determine the CT value, the BCCI said.
