A major mishap was averted at Besa Ghogli Road on Monday morning after a school van carrying 18 schoolchildren fell into a drain.
Luckily all the 18 school children survived the fall and only three students sustained minor injuries.
According to preliminary information, the van driver carrying students of Poddar School lost control and fell straight into the adjacent drain. Following the incident passerby immediately jumped into action and saved all the children.
Sources informed that the van was overloaded and was at high speed when the driver lost control.
Police reached the spot and parents were informed immediately.
