Nagpur city set to be branded as ‘Tiger Capital’ for the G20 Meet

City administration is planning to brand it as the ‘Tiger Capital’ for the visiting foreign delegates who will be here in March 2023 for the G20 Meet.

PM Narendra Modi has called the delegates “tourists of the future” who will be visiting the G20 Meet. He has requested the citizens to showcase the distinctive features of Indian culture to the world.

To begin with, a budget of Rs 30 crore has been planned for the beautification and branding of the city with a special focus on tiger tourism.

The Nagpur Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishnan B said that it is a wonderful opportunity for the city to present Nagpur in its best form to 140 plus foreign delegates. “While the initial budget is Rs 30 crore, we may also increase it,” he added.

The delegates will be in Nagpur city on March 21 and 22, 2022. They will be staying in the hotels, Le Meridian and Hotel Radisson Blu.

The administration has made detailed information about the big cats in the region for the visitors and delegates. Authorities have also planned wildlife safaris to the forests in the region.

The main beautification work for the G20 Meet will be done on the roads leading from the airport to both the hotels.
