A major fire broke out in the house of former chairman of NMC standing committee and BJP leader Virendra alias Vikky Kukreja in Jaripatka on Monday night at 9.30 am.
According to information received, the Kukreja family has a double storey house at Kukreja Layout, Jaripatka.
Flames were seen coming from the hall and room on the second floor.
Five fire tenders and fir brigade teams from Sugat Nagar, Civil Lines and Kalamna fire stations reached the spot. The reason behind fire and loss is still not known.
Fire department officials said that incidents of fire increase during summer season. Hence, people are advised to remain cautious and turn off electrical equipemt while going out.
