No damage reported
An earthquake of 6.0 magnitude struck off Japan’s Fukushima region on Thursday, Japan Meteorological Agency said. No tsunami warning was issued.
There was no immediate report of casualties, injuries or damage to property. Tremors were also felt in Tokyo due to earthquake with epicentre at a depth of 40 Kms.
Japan is very prone to earthquakes being located on the world’s most tectonically active part of the Earth. Japan has strict building standards designed to withstand even the most powerful earthquakes.
