To address indiscriminate street parking, the City Police released a circular on Saturday, prohibiting vehicles from parking at intersections, squares, or within a 30-meter radius from the stop line of a square.
Joint Commissioner of Police (Joint CP) Aswathi Dorje issued the circular due to the rising number of vehicles within the city limits, causing traffic congestion. The directive is intended to mitigate road accidents and falls under Sub-section (1) (b) (2) (6) of Section 33 of the Maharashtra Police Act.
Stringent measures will be enforced against individuals who disregard the notification. The City Traffic Police are tasked with spreading awareness about the notification among the masses.
