Ratan Tata Passes Away: The revered former chairman of Tata Group passed away at the age of 86 on Wednesday night. Known for transforming the company into India’s largest and most influential business empire through major deals, his death has caused deep sorrow across the globe.
Political and business leaders, along with film industry celebrities, have expressed their condolences. Simi Garewal, who had previously acknowledged her past relationship with Tata, shared a heartfelt tribute.
In her heartfelt tribute, Simi Garewal shared a nostalgic photo of herself with Ratan Tata from her iconic talk show, Rendezvous with Simi Garewal and expressed deep grief, reflecting on the difficulty of bearing his loss and bidding farewell to her friend. She wrote, “They say you have gone .. It’s too hard to bear your loss..too hard.. Farewell my friend.. #RatanTata.”
Simi Garewal had previously spoken about her relationship with Ratan Tata, remembering their deep connection. She called him a perfect gentleman with a great sense of humor and modesty, adding that money was never his main goal. Even though their romantic relationship ended, and Simi married someone else, they stayed good friends over the years.
Ratan Tata is a distinguished figure in Indian industry, taking over as chairman of Tata Sons in 1991. During his time, he turned the Tata Group from a primarily domestic company into a global giant, acquiring well-known brands like Tetley, Corus, and Jaguar Land Rover. His tenure saw the Tata Group grow into a business empire valued at over $100 billion.
Tata retired in December 2012, passing the reins to Cyrus Mistry, who sadly lost his life in a car accident in 2022. Renowned for his dedication, humility, and generosity, Tata never married or had children, despite coming close on multiple occasions. He revealed that he had fallen in love four times but chose not to marry for various reasons. One significant relationship took place in the early 1960s while he was in the US, but external circumstances, including the 1962 Indo-China War, prevented it from progressing.
