Nagpur Crime Branch Unit 4 has arrested 35-year-old Hussain Maqsood Ali, a resident of Gautam Vihar, North East Delhi, for allegedly stealing an iPhone valued at Rs. 1,40,000 from the Inspire Apple Store in Civil Lines on October 28, 2024. The incident occurred between 8:00 and 8:10 p.m. while customer Rohit Dilip Gupte, 37, had left his iPhone 16 Pro Max charging in the store.
After the complaint was registered by Gupte, Crime Branch officers, acting on a reliable tip-off, tracked Ali to Delhi and apprehended him. During interrogation, Ali confessed to the Inspire Store theft and disclosed his involvement in another theft of an Asus laptop from Reliance Digital in VR Mall, under Imamwada Police jurisdiction.
Police recovered the stolen iPhone and an additional mobile phone from Ali, with a combined value of approximately Rs. 1,50,000. The operation, led by Inspector Kamalakar Gaddime and Sub-Inspector Avinash Jaybhaye under the guidance of senior officers, including Police Commissioner Ravinder Kumar Singhal and Joint Commissioner Nisar Tamboli.
