The Postal Department will organize Nagpurpex 2024, a unique district-level philately exhibition showcasing an extensive collection of stamps and postal history, on November 29 and 30. The Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Nagpur City Division, shared the details through a press release.
The event will be inaugurated by Shobha Madhale, Postmaster General, Nagpur Region, at 11:00 AM on November 29 at Rajhans Hall, located on the first floor of the Nagpur General Post Office Building, Civil Lines. Dr. J.P. Dash, Chief General Manager of the National Academy of Defense Production (NADP), Ambazari, will be the chief guest for the occasion.
The exhibition is open to all, including children and students. Highlights include informative, attractive, and educative displays of postal stamps, the release of special covers, and a unique facility for creating personalized “My Stamps” featuring various themes.
A special cover cancellation on National Academy of Defence Production, Ambazari, Nagpur will be conducted during the inaugural function on November 29. These covers will be available for purchase at the venue.
The program will also include engaging activities for children and students, such as a drawing competition themed “Design My Own Stamp” and “Modern Post Office in 2047”. Additionally, a Postal History Quiz Competition will be organized for visiting students.
On November 30, a literature book meet centered on the theme “Letters” will be hosted by the Nagpur Book Club at 12:00 PM.
The event will conclude with a prize distribution ceremony at 4:00 PM, graced by Dr. Vasundhare Gulhane, Director of Postal Services, Nagpur Region.
The Postal Department has appealed to citizens to attend Nagpurpex 2024 in large numbers and experience the fascinating world of philately.
