Nagpur: The Maharashtra Association of Social Work Educators (MASWE) is set to host a national conference on “Republic India @75 and Beyond” on January 31 and February 1 at Vanamati Hall, VIP Road, Dharampeth. The event, marking the 30th anniversary of MASWE, will commence at 11 AM.
Prominent speakers, including Dr. Rajan Welurkar, Justice Sunil Shukre, Justice Aarti Chavan, Dr. Rajendra Kakde, Dr. Shailendra Donarkar, Adv. Firdos Mirza, Devaji Tofa, Ashok Wankhede, Dr. Upendra Kothekar, and others, will share insights on various topics.
The conference will cover issues such as national challenges, steps towards progress, quality in higher education, social work, the judiciary and media’s role, social justice, tribal concerns, and wildlife conservation. Around 400 experts, scholars, and delegates from across the country are expected to attend.
As part of the event, legislators who have raised concerns about social educators in the Assembly, officers assisting in resolving these issues, and meritorious students will be felicitated.
Former MASWE president Dr. Ambadas Mohite, speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, also announced a special gathering of past and present social work educators.
