Action against non-eligible applicants and those who have used fake documents to avail of the benefits under the ‘Mukhyamantri Ladki Bahin Yojana’ has been initiated, Women and Child Welfare Minister Aditi Tatkare said.
The cases of misuse of the scheme came to the fore during the scrutiny of the applications by Anganwadi Sevikas in September. The complaints against those who have used unlawful means to avail the benefits have been filed with the police on October 4, Tatkare informed through a post on social media.
The applicants received Rs 10,500 in seven installments up to January 2025. Many of them have started withdrawing from the scheme under fear of legal action, Tatkare has said.
