The process of getting small airports from private companies to the government will e completed soon. The airports include those at Nanded, Yavatmal etc. The step is being taken to facilitate travel and parking at the airports, said Maharashtra Industries and Marathi Language Minister Uday Samant.
Samant was on Nanded and Parbhani’s tour to review the developments of industries and other government schemes. He then addressed the media in Nanded. Following complaints about the night landing if aircraft at Nanded, Latur, Yavatmal, Solapur and Amravati, Samant said that the works will be withdrawn from private companies and handed over to respective MIDCs. Notices to this effect have been issued to the companies concerned.
With the facilities for nigh-landing provisions for providing chartered planes will also be made at these airports, Samant said. Samant said from the MoUs signed at Davos some major industrial projects will be brought to Nanded.
MIDC at the taluka-level, Turmeric Research Centre at Sangli and Wasmat will be established soon. A conference with industrial organisations will soon be organised in the region, he added.
