A 19-year-old from Madhya Pradesh’s Nandleta village, Lalit Patidar, has set a Guinness World Record for having the densest facial hair growth ever recorded. His hair density was measured at 201.72/cm², earning him global recognition.
Patidar, who has been nicknamed ‘Wolf Man’ by locals and even worshipped as an ‘avatar’ of Lord Hanuman, was officially awarded the record in Italy on February 13. His achievement has brought pride to his village.
Journey to the World Record
According to a report by Times Now, the Guinness World Records team first contacted him in 2022. After a lengthy verification process, he was invited to Milan, Italy, where he traveled on February 8 with a family member, Jitendra Patidar. Following medical examinations, he was officially recognized as the world record holder.
Challenges and Triumphs
Patidar has lived with abnormal facial hair growth since birth, a condition that affects only about 50 people worldwide. When he was born, doctors had to shave his body due to excessive hair growth.
Growing up, he faced bullying and social stigma—some villagers were scared of him, while others mocked him. Some even threw stones at him, fearing he was dangerous. However, over time, his story gained widespread attention, and he is now seen as an inspiration by many across India and abroad.
Despite the rare medical condition, Patidar remains positive. “I want my story to inspire others to embrace themselves,” he says. Now, with global recognition, he hopes to continue spreading awareness and motivating othersto be confident in their own skin.
