The Nagpur edition of the 23rd Pune International Film Festival (PIFF) is set to take place from February 28 to March 2, promising an enriching cinematic experience for film enthusiasts. The festival is being jointly organized by the Government of Maharashtra, Chitrapat, Maharashtra Rangbhoomi Ani Sanskrutik Vikas Mahamandal, Department of Cultural Affairs, Pune Film Foundation, and Meraki Performing Arts Organisation.
Venue & Inauguration
Under the guidance of renowned filmmaker and PIFF Director Dr. Jabbar Patel, the festival will be hosted at VR Mall, Cinepolis, Medical Chowk, Nagpur.
The inaugural ceremony will take place on Friday, February 28, at 5 PM, with Padma Bhushan awardee and 12-time National Award-winning filmmaker Jahnu Barua as the chief guest. He will be joined by Dr. Jabbar Patel, Film Guru and PIFF Creative Head Samar Nakhate, and Deputy Director Aditi Akkalkotkar.
Masterclass & Film Screenings
A special masterclass by Jahnu Barua is scheduled for Saturday, March 1, at 12:45 PM, offering a valuable opportunity for aspiring filmmakers and cinema enthusiasts to gain insights from the veteran director.
The festival will feature a lineup of 15 critically acclaimed films, including 11 international and 4 national films, two of which are Marathi. These screenings will be held at Screen 6 and Screen 4 at VR Mall from 10 AM onwards.
