The Association for Industrial Development (AID) extends its heartfelt gratitude to Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Union Minister for Road, Transport and Highways, GoI for raising the Nagpur Airport Runway Recarpeting issue very seriously.
AID President Ashish Kale first raised this issue on 24 September, 2024 and took the matter to Nitin Gadkari, who immediately convened a high-level meeting in New Delhi with Union Civil Aviation Minister Shri Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, Shri Muralidhar Mohol, senior officials from the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation and AID office bearers. Further Gadkari personally visited Nagpur Airport in December 2024, to review the timely completion of the runway recarpeting by March 31, 2025 and formed the Airport Advisory Committee (AAC) to oversee the progress.
AID also represented this issue to Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, after the appointment of the Collector of Nagpur as the Chairman of MIHAN India Ltd. Following this, Shri Fadnavis immediately instructed the Collector to ensure the timely completion of the Nagpur Airport runway recarpeting work. As a result of this proactive intervention, the summer flight schedule has been released, securing 24-hour runway availability and enhancing regional air connectivity. AID deeply appreciates his immediate and timely action.
