In a crackdown on banned e-cigarette sales, Crime Branch Unit 1 raided Texas Smoke Shop in Yashoda Nagar, MIDC, seizing illegal stock worth ?2 lakh on Monday evening.
During the operation at around 7:40 PM, police apprehended Navin Vijay Khandelwal (28), a resident of Dattatraya Nagar, Hudkeshwar, for illegally stocking and selling flavored e-cigarettes for profit.
The seized items included various flavored e-cigarettes banned under the Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Act.
A case was registered at MIDC Police Station under Sections 4, 5, 7, and 8 of the Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Act. The accused and the confiscated items were handed over to MIDC police for further investigation.
