Vidarbha’s Temperatures Drop Below 40°C
After several days of hot and dry weather, the city experienced a brief rainfall on Friday evening. While the unexpected showers brought much-needed relief, they also left residents struggling with uncomfortable humidity.
On Friday, clouds lingered over Nagpur throughout the day, and by 7:30 pm, the city saw a short burst of rain. Despite the brief respite, the humidity that followed made the air feel heavy and uncomfortable.
The day’s peak temperature reached 38.2°C.
Across Vidarbha, temperatures fell below 40°C. Wardha was the hottest at 38.5°C, followed by Brahmapuri at 38.2°C. Gadchiroli recorded a cooler daytime temperature of 35°C.
The meteorological department had issued an alert forecasting thunderstorms and rain between March 20 and 22. However, March 20 remained clear. Friday began with bright sunshine, but by afternoon, clouds began to gather.
Around 7:30 pm, a sudden rainstorm swept through the city, though it was accompanied neither by strong winds nor lightning.
It remains to be seen whether the forecast for March 22 will materialize, with updates expected tomorrow. Meanwhile, the drop in daytime temperatures across Vidarbha has offered much-needed relief to residents.
