The Senior State Powerlifting Championship-2026 and selection trials for the National Powerlifting Championship will be held in Nagpur on July 25 and 26 at Tanishq Nursing College, Rajiv Nagar, near Jay Prakash Nagar Metro Station on Wardha Road.
Organised by the Maharashtra State Powerlifting Association, the event will bring together top powerlifters from districts across Maharashtra. District associations have been asked to complete their district championships and submit team entries by July 20.
The competition will be held in eight men’s weight categories (59kg to +120kg) and seven women’s categories (47kg to +84kg).
Participants must report at the venue by 9 am on July 25. A technical committee meeting will be held at 10 am, while the association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) is scheduled for 9 am on July 26.
District associations have also been instructed to nominate two to three candidates for the state referees’ examination, which will take place during the championship.
