About 25 passengers were seriously injured when a Nagpur-bound private travel bus coming from Solapur hit a bridge near Hivri Heti village in Yavatmal on the Nagpur-Tuljapur Highway. The accident occurred around 3.30 am on Monday.
The Solapur-Nagpur bus of Saini Travels MH 40, CM 5035 hit a bridge boundary wall. The impact was such that the steering of the driver fell on the bridge and the engine was pushed to the bus gate. Twenty-five passengers were injured in the accident. Yavatmal Rural police led by Inspector Prashant Kawre, Traffic Police Officer Dnyanoba Devkate, and Regional Transport Office staff rushed to the site. Five ambulances were also summoned. The injured have been rushed to Yavatmal’s Vasantrao Naik Government Medical College and Hospital.
