Referring to the Pahalgam terrorist attack, RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat said, “hate and enmity are not our nature, but the fight is between Dharma and Adharma. We will have to demonstrate our strength and use it to fight against the Adharma. The time has come to show our strength. Unity among people is necessary to stop such attacks”.
Dr Bhagwat was speaking on Thursday, during distribution of the fourt Lata Dinanath Mangeshwar awards, at the Dinanath Theatre in Mumbai. He quoted Rawan as a devotee of Lord Shiva, but was encircled with ill-thoughts, which could not be sorted out through dialogue. Lord Ram had to kill him. Similar is the situation now, when discussion with some people is not possible. They will have to teach a lesson.
The only religion in the world is Humanity, which today is called Hindutva. He expected a fitting reply by the Centre. Dr Bhagwat said that discipline in a society is essential and should be followed. The Constitution is secular, and those who penned it were secular, which is a reflection of our culture for over 5,000 years.
M Rajan was conferred with the Master Ninanath Mangeshkar Award for his contribution to the field of music. Drama ‘Asen Mee, Nasen Mee; bagged Mohan Wagh Award; Ambika Takalkar of Aarambh Society for Spastic and Slow Learners was honoured with Anandmayi Award; and Shripam Sabnis with Wagvilasini award for distinguished service to literature. Actors Sharad Ponkshe, Sonali Kulkarni, and Reeva Rathod were given Mangeshkar awards for their contribution in drama and film.
