An email warning of a bomb blast was received at the Mantralaya, administrative
headquarters of the Maharashtra government situated in south Mumbai, police said on Tuesday.
An anonymous email, received by an official at the Disaster Management Control Room on Monday evening, warned of a bomb blast within 48 hours, though no specific location was mentioned. Police carried out a search of the extensive Mantralaya complex, but no suspicious items were found.
Given the context of the ongoing India-Pakistan military conflict, Mumbai Police have heightened security across key locations in the city as a precaution. The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has also been alerted. A case has been registered at the Marine Drive Police Station, and authorities are working to trace the sender of the email using the IP address, a police official confirmed.
