The Department of Social Welfare has opened applications for its Overseas Scholarship Scheme for the academic year 2025-26, aimed at supporting students from minority communities in Maharashtra to pursue higher education abroad.
Eligible candidates must be permanent residents of Maharashtra and belong to a recognised minority community. The deadline for submitting the application form is August 1.
The age limit for applicants is capped at 35 years for postgraduate and postgraduate diploma courses, and 40 years for PhD programmes. Additionally, the annual family income of the applicant should not exceed Rs 8 lakh.
Academic eligibility includes a minimum of 55% marks in the qualifying undergraduate examination for postgraduate or diploma-level studies, and 55% in postgraduate studies for those applying to PhD programmes.
