Acting tough on illegal activities in Ganga Jamuna area, Lakadganj Police have sealed a room used for prostitution for one year on the orders of the Commissioner of Police.
Earlier, on February 14, 2025, police raided a premises in Masurkar Chowk, Ganga Jamuna locality, and rescued a woman who was forced into prostitution. Accused Suman Balram Dhanawat (50), originally from Gwalior, and Ashok Barsuji Uke (50), resident of Ganga Jamuna, were found luring minor girls into the flesh trade by offering money and providing a room for customers.
Following investigation, Lakadganj Police submitted a proposal to seal the premises. The Commissioner of Police ordered the closure of the first-floor room of Circle No. 11/16, Ward No. 37, Ganga Jamuna, effective from July 30, 2025, for one year. The premises has now been sealed in the presence of panch witnesses.
The action was executed under the guidance of DCP Rahul Madne (Zone 3) and ACP Shweta Khade, by PI Hemant Chandewar, API Sunil Jadhav, PSI Anand Maraskolhe, PSI Geeta Borkar and PSI Pragya Ramteke.
