Acting on a tip-off, the Crime Branch Unit 1 of Nagpur Police carried out a raid against a sex racket on Wednesday evening. Under the guidance of the unit’s officers, the team raided the Maharashtra Guest House located in Kanholibara, Hingna, Nagpur, where illegal activities were reportedly taking place.
The police arrested the accused, identified as Narendra Prabhakar Ninave, 55, a resident of Shikshak Colony, Borgaon, Nagpur. Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused was luring women and girls into sex work for financial gain. During the operation, the police rescued several victims from the premises.
From the accused, the police seized two mobile phones, ₹6,000 in cash, and other material, with a total estimated value of ₹52,170. The accused has been charged under Section 370(2) of the IPC along with relevant provisions of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, Sections 3, 4, and 5.
The accused has been taken into custody, and further investigations are underway.
