In a major step towards using technology for public safety, Maharashtra Chief Minister will visit Police Bhavan, Nagpur, at 11:30 am on August 10, 2025, to witness the presentation of Garud Drishti — an advanced social media monitoring tool developed by Nagpur Police. The CM will also personally hand over compensation worth ₹10 crore to 200 victims of various cyber fraud cases reported in 2025.
Additionally, through the NCCRP portal, a further ₹12.5 crore remains frozen and is expected to be returned to the concerned victims in due course. Selected beneficiaries will receive the recovered amounts directly from the Chief Minister during the event.

Garud Drishti – Features and Achievements
• Social Media Monitoring: Since its launch, Garud Drishti has analysed over 30,000 social media posts.
• Action on Offensive Content: 650 objectionable posts were identified and removed from respective platforms.
• Law & Order Management: The tool effectively curbs law-and-order issues arising from rumours, hate speech, and provocative content on social media.
• Cost-Effective Local Innovation: Conceived during Cyber Hack 2025, the tool has been developed at minimal cost, with Intellectual Property Rights held by Nagpur Police.
• Multi-Purpose Utility: Besides crime prevention, it aids in trend analysis, detection of suspicious accounts, and swift action.
Nagpur Police Commissionerate described Garud Drishti as a product of their innovation-driven approach to policing. “The initiative not only helps control criminal activities but also strengthens social harmony and law enforcement,” an official stated.
