Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has ordered a high-level inquiry into the collapse of a slab from the under-construction entrance gate at Shri Mahalaxmi Jagdamba Devasthan in Koradi. The incident occurred on Saturday night.
Bawankule visited the site today to inspect the location and review the situation. He held discussions with officials and gathered details about the incident. He stated that development works are being carried out in the temple premises through the Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA), which includes the construction of three grand gateways. Two of these have been completed, and the incident took place during the construction of the third.
Bawankule said the responsibility for supervising these development works lies with VNIT and the Project Management Consultant agency. “Despite this, such an incident occurred. An inquiry will be completed within a month, and strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty,” he asserted.
The Minister further said that he personally monitors every development work in the temple premises to ensure there is no negligence or corruption. “Unfortunately, this incident happened while I was on tour in Buldhana. Fortunately, there was no loss of life. Those injured will receive full assistance from both the government and the temple administration,” he assured.
