The terror of a leopard roaming in the city’s Dabha area is steadily increasing. A recent video from Sampat Housing Society has gone viral on social media, showing the leopard attacking and killing a dog. The incident has triggered widespread fear and panic among local residents.
According to residents, this is not the first such case. The leopard has reportedly preyed on several dogs in the vicinity over the past few weeks. The viral footage is said to be from around 1:30 AM on Thursday night. Locals allege that the leopard has been frequently spotted in the area for the past 15 days, with attacks occurring every two to three days. Shockingly, around two weeks ago, the big cat was also seen with two cubs.
Despite repeated complaints, residents accuse the Forest Department of failing to take effective measures to curb the menace. They fear that if no urgent action is taken, the leopard may soon target humans. The viral video has only intensified the residents’ anger and anxiety.
People living in the society say they now avoid stepping out of their homes after dusk, as the fear of leopard attacks looms large. The community has demanded immediate intervention from authorities to ensure their safety.
