Nagpur witnessed a shocking incident when a so-called ‘Baba’, claiming to solve family problems, was caught exploiting a woman under the guise of spiritual rituals. Pretending to be a savior, the man gained entry into the woman’s home, and for several days he continued obscene acts with her. He also threatened her with dire consequences, claiming he would destroy her family life through black magic if she refused to comply.
According to police, the accused forced the woman to watch pornographic videos in the name of rituals and intimidated her into silence. The victim finally gathered courage and reported the matter to the police. A case has been registered, and the accused has been taken into custody.
The arrested individual has been identified as Urf Mama Sheikh (55), a resident of Hudkeshwar. He was known in the locality as a self-proclaimed tantrik and had gained the trust of vulnerable families facing personal problems. Police said he exploited women under the pretext of removing their difficulties, eventually building intimate relationships with them.
Investigations revealed that he had tricked the victim by saying that her marital problems could only be solved through special rituals, and then he trapped her by sending obscene videos and making her perform indecent acts. When the victim realized his true intentions, she approached the police, leading to his arrest.
Authorities further added that the so-called ‘Baba’ often roamed around tea stalls and poor localities, targeting women in distress. His modus operandi involved luring them with promises of solutions through rituals, only to later blackmail and exploit them. Police suspect more women may have fallen prey to his schemes, and further probe is underway.
