Actor Shilpa Shetty announced the closure of her iconic Bandra restaurant Bastian this week, calling it the “end of an era.” In a social media post, she said Thursday would mark the restaurant’s final day, with a farewell event planned for loyal patrons. While the Bandra outlet is shutting, Shetty clarified that the popular Arcane Affair nights will continue at Bastian at the Top.
Opened in 2016 with restaurateur Ranjit Bindra, Bastian became one of Mumbai’s best-known dining destinations.
The announcement comes just weeks after Shetty and her husband, businessman Raj Kundra, were booked by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) in a ₹60.4 crore cheating case. A Mumbai businessman alleged the couple misused funds invested in their now-defunct company, Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd.
Their lawyer, Prashant Patil, denied the allegations, calling it a civil dispute already settled at the NCLT. He said auditors had provided all records to the EOW and termed the case “malicious and baseless.”
